Amsterdam and surroundings
Amsterdam has a lot of old buildings: the canal ring dates from the seventeenth century, and neighbourhoods around the centre such as De Pijp and Oud-West were largely built in the late nineteenth century. Further out are post-war districts such as Nieuw-West and Zuidoost, and new-build housing on IJburg.
In the older neighbourhoods, stairs are often narrow and steep, and parking is paid in large parts of the city. Say in your job description which floor the job is on, and whether materials can go up the stairs or need to be hoisted up the outside with the hoisting beam on the facade.
With a job in Amstelveen, Diemen, Zaandam, Landsmeer, Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, Badhoevedorp or Duivendrecht you're welcome here too: what counts is whether your address falls within the radius of a gardener, not which municipality it's in.
How your job reaches a gardener in Amsterdam
When a gardener signs up, they choose a working area: a radius around their work address, measured in a straight line. If your job in Amsterdam falls within that radius and they offer the trade and service of your job, they see your job and can send you a proposal.
AlMijnKlussen is new, so we can't promise how many proposals you'll get: that depends on the gardeners who have signed up with Amsterdam in their working area. Posting is free and without obligation.
What to put in your job description
- How big the garden or the area in question is, in metres.
- What needs doing: laying out, maintenance, pruning, paving or putting up a fence.
- Photos of the current situation, from several sides.
- Whether the garden can be reached by a back path, or only through the house.
- Whether soil, paving or garden waste needs to be taken away.
- For trees: roughly how tall they are and how close they stand to the house or the property line.

Frequently asked questions
Who sees my address?
Professionals see the town of your job and a rough spot on the map (to within about a kilometre), never your exact address. You share your full address yourself — only when you want to, with the professional you choose.
Do I need a permit to cut down a tree?
That depends on your municipality: each one has its own rules for felling trees. Search your municipality's website for ‘kapvergunning’ (tree felling permit) or ask them, ideally before you post your job.
